Paragliding in the Chamonix Valley

Mieusey, 50km west of Chamonix, lays claim to the birth place of paragliding in 1974.

Paragliding is similar to hang gliding. The paraglider is a canopy specially designed to allow you to glide and catch thermal currents to keep you airborne.

Your safety and comfort is paramount so there is no need to worry about the steering as the pilot takes full control of your descent. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery.

Landing is very gentle too and is just like jumping off a step.

Cool nights and hot days create large temperature gradients resulting in powerful thermals and strong valley winds. May and June are particularly strong months.
